To say the Right has blood on their hands is not being unkind, they do

A fascist is one whose lust for money or power is combined with such an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations as to make him ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends.
~Henry A. Wallace (He could have been taking about the Extreme Right in America today)

In light of the Arizona massacre the Right has suddenly become self righteous and has ingeniously tried to turn the discussion away from the hate speech that they continually spew. The shooter appears to be a deranged young man and what set him off is unclear but the amount of hate rhetoric laced with violent consequences for those who are not in agreement with the extreme Right is inflammatory and can and has affected those who listen to it. Sadly this will not be the last such incident. The propensity of guns and the Rights insistence that everyone can have a gun will ultimately lead to more acts like this.
To say the Right has blood on their hands is not being unkind, they do. The rhetoric of Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh and Palin is clearly volatile and an unhinged person can, has and will take violent action, and the consequences can be clearly seen in Arizona.
It is time for a rational debate and for people to understand, that when you have a microphone and dedicated listeners who will act on every word, that words have power. Hate speech is listened to and is acted upon. Words have power to do good or evil. What has come from the Right is evil not rational, not reasonable but vitriolic speech that has called for violence on those who don't think their way. If it continues and, I see no change, it will only lead to more violence. The President of the United States today is less safe because of the hate filled speech coming from the media, especially FOX News which has become the mouth organ for the extreme Right and Tea Party. It is time those that those who spread the mantra of hate to take stock of what they do, because, sadly, this will not be the end of it.
