Merry Christmas and for the richest Americans it's a very Merry Christmas

"Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves."
~Eric Sevareid

Merry Christmas and for the richest Americans it's a very Merry Christmas. The compromise has been made and the Republicans that were holding the government hostage got their way. So what has changed? Nothing, the poor are still poor and the working class still struggles and the rich, well the rich, they produce nothing, invest their money, guard their gains, and they just get richer and richer and richer thanks to the GOP. They have tilted the playing field to their advantage. See: Income Gaps Between Very Rich and Everyone Else More Than Tripled In Last Three Decades, New Data Show

There is some good news; Don't Ask Don't Tell has been overthrown, and good riddance to a bad policy. There is a little justice in the world. A large group of Americans can now serve in the military with dignity.
When the story is written about the past two years of the Obama administration is will be seen as a success despite the opposition of the Extreme Right and their bed mates the Tea Party and the Gay Old Party.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
