Again we see the face of conservative religious hypocrisy

"From where Winston stood it was just possible to read, picked out on its white face in elegant lettering, the three slogans of the Party:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH."

George Orwell, 1984

The quote "not all Conservatives are stupid but most stupid people are Conservative" has suddenly gained new relevance. It seems that one in five Americans think that president Obama is a Muslim. This is most prevalent among Conservatives. I guess the quote is right. How stupid are these people or is it wishful thinking to label a man a specific religion as if all Muslims are evil. This is part of the new Conservative hysteria about all American Muslims being evil and hating America. Again we see the face of conservative religious hypocrisy. Conservatives are all about god and the constitution. But disagree with them or be a person of color or another religion and the constitution goes out the window, religious freedom and religious tolerance becomes a dirty word. The evidence is the attack on the constitution by Conservative Republican 'politicians', now that is a dirty word, to change the law regarding babies born in America to illegal aliens, and the suggestion that president Obama is a Muslim like Muslim is a dirty word.

These people harm America and demean it's values. They would destroy the very freedoms that generations have fought to preserve. In the name of some twisted version of "their America" they would reduce America to a fascist state with draconian laws. For these people there is always money for war and killing. They would control a woman's vagina, and everyone would have to pray to their approved god. Their America would be reminiscent of George Orwell's 1984. "War is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength." In fact I think that about sums up the Conservative agenda.

Worth a read.
