President Obama has continued to come under criticism from both the Left and the Right

“What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise”
~ Oscar Wilde

President Obama has continued to come under criticism from both the Left and the Right. The Right has been singularly vicious in their attacks. Their hidden agenda, supported by the very vocal Evangelical Right and Republican hypocrites and their corporate lobbyist, is to swing the country to the far right. It is an agenda that is based on intolerance, injustice, hate and racism that has as it's goal an America that limits freedom and democratic institutions to the white elite. They are supported by the white disenfranchised undereducated poor working class who are afraid of the growing hispanic population in America, gays and people of color. They see the Conservative Republican Right as their saviors. Who best to attack than that symbol tolerance and change in America but President Obama. A major claim is that he hasn't accomplished anything which is the not the case.
President Obama's accomplishments are the following.
• "Three major health bills (SCHIP, tobacco regulation, and stimulus funds for Medicaid, COBRA subsidies, health information technology and the National Institutes of Health) enacted even before comprehensive reform
• Stimulus contained myriad other individual policy victories, not only preventing a far worse depression but also:
◦ Delivered key new funds for education
◦ Expanded state energy conservation programs and new transit programs
◦ Added new smart grid investments
◦ Funded high-speed Internet broadband programs
◦ Extended unemployment insurance for up to 99 weeks for the unemployed and modernizing state UI programs to cover more of the unemployed
◦ Made large new investments in the safety net, from food stamps (SNAP) to affordable housing to child care
• Clean cars victory to take gas mileage requirements to 35mpg
• Protection of 2 million acres of land against oil and gas drilling and other development
• Executive orders protecting labor rights, from project labor agreements to protecting rights of contractor employees on federal jobs
• Stopping pay discrimination through Lilly Ledbetter and Equal Pay laws
• Making it easier for airline and railway workers to unionize, while appointing NLRB and other labor officials who will strengthen freedom to form unions
• Reversing Bush ban on funding overseas family planning clinics
• Passing hate crimes protections for gays and lesbians
• Protecting stem cell research research
• Strengthening state authority and restricting federal preemption to protect state consumer, environmental and labor laws
• Financial reforms to protect homeowners and credit card holders
• Bailing out the auto industry and protecting unionized retirees and workers"
It will continue to be a long hard fight but the hope is with people of tolerance. America is a country of diversity and that is the strength of America but to the few on the right it is their greatest fear.

The Supreme Court has insured that illegal immigrants have a right to due process. The court affirms the right of illegal immigrants' Right to Court Review. This must rankle those on the Right that would deny illegal immigrants the protection of the constitution. When one considers the makeup of the court, it is a surprising decision but a welcome one. To deny any person or class of people in the United States the protection of the law is to deny justice to us all because it is a small step from denying one group of people justice to eventually denying it to us all.

The Republican Right and Fox (white man) News, purveyors of hate, intolerance and ignorance are in rare form. Here the madness of the Right is laid bare in their own words and actions or lack thereof.
