...hypocrisy, ignorance, lies, racism, bigotry and demagoguery, at the expense of truth and decency and caring for our fellow man

"When the Chris-tian majority takes over this country, there will be no satanic churches, no more free distri-bution of pornography, no more abortion on demand, and no more talk of rights for homo-sexuals. After the Christian majority takes control, pluralism (i.e., multicultural-ism) will be seen as immoral and evil and the state will not permit anybody the right to practice evil." -Gary Potter, President, Catholics for Christian Political Action (These people are crazy)

I have an agenda. Well, I have been told that I have an agenda so I guess it must be true. Lets examine my supposed agenda. I support a public option for health care. I question our actions in Afghanistan and our invasion of Iraq. I am concerned about climate change. I support gay marriage. I believe that women have the right to choose. I oppose the Right Wing evangelical agenda that discriminates against people of color, women, gays, that is supported by the Republican Right Wing. I oppose bribing our members of congress by special interest groups such as the health care industry, big oil and gas and other big corporate contributors. I oppose Fox white man News and the low lives that they prop up as commentators, such as Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity and that radio bombast, Limbaugh. I oppose the intolerant, racist, bigoted Right Wing evangelical anti Christs' such as James Dobson and his minions. Lets break it down and see if this means that I have agenda.

The first reason is, it's going to make me rich, no way. Could it be because I see things that are unjust and I am offended? I support the public option and health care for everyone because I see the health insurers for what they are, predators and pimps who victimize the sick, the poor, while they make billions of dollars. They over charge, reject coverage at the most critical moment and cause people to die, they are ruthless and they don't answer to anyone.

I have opposed the Iraq war for a long time, there were never weapons of mass destruction and Saddam was never part of the 9/11 conspiracy. Bush lied to the American people and invaded a sovereign state, approved torture and cost thousand of lives both American and Iraqi and billions of dollars. Afghanistan was to my mind a just war that Bush left to languish and failed to finish. That job was to pursue and capture or kill Bin Laden we didn't do either. Now we are engaged in a war with an enemy that is hard to define, and an insurgency, in a country called the grave yard of empires. We can just leave and call it a win and spend our financial resource on just going after Bin Laden through better means while focusing our energies on helping Pakistan, a nuclear power, resist the radical element in their country.

Climate Change is real. Denying it won't make it go away. Ignoring it and doing business as usual is to invite disaster for humanity. The very existence of the human race may be at stake. We ignore it at our peril. It is our responsibility to address it, as history is our witness. Future generations will either praise us or curse us.

Gays have the right to live their lives without facing discrimination. The hypocrisy of the evangelical Right and Republican Right wing in attacking gays as something sinister that hurts America is farcical. The Right wraps themselves in the flag and say they are defending the American way of life and protecting freedom, whose? And they would deny a group of people the same freedoms that they pretend to defend. Gay is not a disease, it is not catching, leave these people alone and let them live their lives and enjoy the same rights as all Americans.

The right to choose for women is a basic freedom. No one should tell a woman that she cannot have an abortion and shooting doctors that perform them is a CRIME. The evangelical Right and the Republican Right Wing are in bed together and abortion has been one of their key issues, they are complicit in murder. Abortion should be a private matter between a woman and her doctor.

Republican Right Wing far right politicos and the evangelical Right of James Dobson and their ilk offend my sensibilities. They discriminate, use the bible to control people, politicians, and have an agenda that if allowed to succeed would turn this country into an intolerant Christian theocracy that would discriminate against anyone not white and Christian. They would become the Christian version of the Taliban.

I oppose the lobbyist and pacs that buy our government one congressman and senator at a time, and the Right Wing media phonies that support them. I oppose hypocrisy, ignorance, lies, racism, bigotry and demagoguery, at the expense of truth and decency and caring for our fellow man. I guess I do have an agenda after all, good.

"SENATE SET TO VOTE: The Senate announced yesterday that the Finance Committee will vote Tuesday morning on its $829 billion healthcare reform bill, according to The Hill. This gives Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) "the next few days to secure the votes of several colleagues on the committee who have voiced concerns about the bill," the newspaper reports. Special interests within the health industry have tried to play a large part in shaping this legislation -- and the dollars prove it. Among CRP's health care policy tools, you'll find a breakdown of lobbying money and campaign contributions by some of the industries with a stake in the debate. To see how much money members of the Senate Finance Committee -- and members of the four other committees that have proposed health care legislation -- have raised, use this tool. the health insurance companies are spending millions lobbying the congress to do it their way which would benefit them at the cost to the consumer.

“A common misconception is that the costs of health care are cheaper in rural America, when in fact the reality is that they are more expensive and more difficult to access.” - Blanche Lincoln U.S. Senator Arkansas

Health care reform is a political mess. It's a fact we need to reform the health care system but the political factions don't agree and the health insurance companies are spending millions lobbying the congress to do it their way which would benefit them at the cost to the consumer. While the debate rages, across the country people die and sick people don't have the care needed. Who are those people? They are the poor, the guy working in the gas station, the farm worker, the shoe salesman and the pastry chef. They are, kids, moms, dads, husbands and wives. They are the small business, like the local tree trimmer, the home contractor, the karate school, the beverage distributor, they are all Americans from every walk of life. Just look around and you will see them, they are your friends and neighbors.
We need reform because the health insurance companies are in it for profit at the cost of lives. They deny people who have paid their premiums and who think they are covered, they drop people when they need the insurance the most, when they are sick. They charge exorbitant premiums to individuals and exploit the system.
I looked up the cost of health insurance for my wife if I died. As a NYC school teacher I have had great coverage and now retired I have medicaid and my supplemental coverage so we are okay. My wife, a self employed artist, has no insurance of her own. If I were to die she would have ninety days of coverage and then she's on her own. From what I found she would have to pay between five hundred to one thousand dollars a month depending on the coverage. Pay less get less coverage and pay more and get more coverage. For five hundred dollars a month the coverage is pretty thin. Of course any pre-existing conditions would not be covered and god forbid she gets sick she could be dropped. This is not health insurance coverage it is blackmail.
We need something better than this. The health insurance companies are virtually holding people hostage and are little better that criminal entities Their actions have been responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people they have denied coverage to people who paid their exorbitant premiums under the delusion they were covered. Many people argue that competition alone will make the difference, such as a recent attendee at a town hall meeting by Rep Michael McMahon NY.
..."if we allow insurance companies to insure across state lines, the competition will force a decrease in health costs, competition works". -Vinnie Cusimano, Staten Island NY
Competition across state lines may help and make a difference but a universal plan that allows people to buy into medicare or the government health plan that our congressmen have would be better. It is time Americans have the protection that all the other western industrial countries in the world have, health care for all their citizens. The lies about the British health care system, the French and the Canadian systems are scare tactics designed to support the health insurance companies, those systems for the most part work and work well. Doctors are paid well and people are treated.
One group that was victimized by the the health insurance industries, is seniors, financed propaganda machine and touted by the Republicans was that of death panels and reduced coverage for seniors. It was a disgusting display of creating fear and uncertainty in a population on fixed incomes and reliant on medicare. It has been the Republicans that tried to dismantle Medicare, it was the Republicans the created the donut hole that inflicts a financial burden on seniors for prescription coverage when they can least afford it, that was supported by the health insurance in collusion with the Bush administration.
Universal health insurance coverage for all Americans is an idea whose time have come and while the misinformation machine is working overtime the truth is if we don't get it now it is a major victory to the health insurance industry and they will grow stronger and they will victimize the poorest and most neediest of Americans. The American health care system will become a disgrace and embarrassment to this country if not already, one the rest of the world will see is based on greed and not on what it should be, based on a caring nation providing every citizen with the level of protection that can allow them to sleep at night and not wake up in the middle of the night hoping they or their children don't get sick.

Whether you agree or disagree listen to the video, judge for yourself, do you want to put your life and the lives of your loved ones into the hands of these people.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, et al. The voice of the GOP. Wow, that means that they, the GOP, are intellectually bankrupt.

"From where Winston stood it was just possible to read, picked out on its white face in elegant lettering, the three slogans of the Party:

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, et al. The voice of the GOP. Wow, that means that they, the GOP, are really intellectually bankrupt. The liberal progressives are the ones with ideas and the ones that are trying to make a difference. They are trying to make a difference for all Americans especially the working poor and middle class. They are focusing their energies on health care, climate change and global warming, pollution, and helping the consumers by making the banking industries responsible for their actions. Not small issues and issues that affect lives and our future. The GOP is happy with the status quo. That benefits the wealthy and exploits the poor and middle class.
If the GOP gives up their leadership to these knuckle dragging media buffoons they will only appeal to the wacky fringe, the simple minded and the intellectually challenged. The GOP will become an anarchism and will be marginalized. We need a strong two party system where we have a loyal opposition that challenges the party in power with intelligence and purpose, not just mean spirited actions and lies.
We now have Republicans senators and representatives going abroad and attacking America. Saying not to trust America. They are traitors to America. The electorate should turn them out of office for their despicable behavior. Who are these traitors to America? They are Sens. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., " He says he plans on attending the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this December and it's because he thinks that global warming is a hoax." and Rep. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., who told the Chinese not to trust the American government. Heat, that's what I have been taking for calling O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity dirt bags. Well, I don't take it back they are double dirt bags

“Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people….. it is true that most stupid people are conservative.” John Stuart Mill

Rep. Michael McMahon (D-NY) Town Hall Meeting in Staten Island While the meeting went on inside, the crowd out side the meeting that was unable to get into the meeting began debating the health care issue amongst themselves. There was heated debate between them both for and against the public option and the health care reform in general. Mullin's World has requested an interview with Rep. McMahon, so now we wait in eager anticipation of an interview about the issues.

"I believe everyone should have health care coverage. We're paying for it anyway. It's a trillion dollar debt, our tax money is going to the uninsured anyway so why not have a solution to this problem.

-Tamara Blackwood, Staten Island NY

I'm glad we are finally tackling some of the issues in our broken health care system...we already give the public option to the poor and elderly. I feel the working poor and the middle class deserve the same option."

-John Pillarella, Staten Island NY

"I'm here to to support health care for all because it's the moral thing to do. I definitely support the public option. The other side is a do nothing party, the Republicans have done nothing."

-Richard Reichard, president SIDA

Heat, that's what I have been taking for calling O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity dirt bags. Well, I don't take it back they are double dirt bags. They have no social conscience, their ideas victimize the working poor and people of color and minimize the importance of the middle class. Their right Wing pandering has contributed to murder and gay bashing. They are disgusting shills for the Right Wing Republican Conservative evangelical agenda. That agenda is pro white, pro big business and at the expense of the American poor, the working class and people of color except white. Do they have a social conscience? NO. They don't care about the struggles of the average American to survive, the unemployed, the poor, the sick and disabled, they are true scum bags. They wrap themselves in the flag and talk about Democracy, while they spout lies and half truths and innuendos. They lie to the senior citizens saying that Obama will take away their health care, death panels, ignoring the fact that the Republicans had tried to do just that in 2009 by attacking medicare, and lie to the middle class, and preach bigotry and racism with racist code words and slanted news. They are the archetypical hypocrites and demagogues. They wouldn't know what democracy is if it woke them up in the middle of the night and smacked them in the mouth. The shame of it is that there are a lot of gullible people out there who don't know the facts, don't think for themselves and get their news from Fox, white man, News and believe their bull shit. Just listen to what they say and after a while, if you are a decent human being you have to know what they are saying is wrong, and hurts people. Simply put, they are bad people and they do bad by what they do. Listen to the words out of their own mouths.

Why is Washington giving social welfare to these criminals

"The accomplice to the crime of corruption is frequently our own indifference" -Bess Myerson

There are 7 1/2 evictions every minute in America. The people it hurts reach across all political stripes, they are not just Democrats, not just liberals but Americans from all walks of life, many are Republicans and conservative and they won't see Republican bankers or evangelists showing up to help them. Their dirt bag heroes Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity will not rush to their aid. They will be left to fend for themselves. They are on their own, the banks have screwed them and continue get federal money and get richer and there is no help for those who face eviction.

Now this sucks, "WASHINGTON -- The federal government is engaged in a massive mortgage modification program that's on track to send billions in tax dollars to many of the very companies that judges or regulators have cited in recent years for abusive mortgage practices." It is an abomination. Why is Washington giving social welfare to these criminals while people, American taxpayers are loosing their homes. Not all of these people shouldn't have mortgages many of them are victims of the economic recession begun by the banking industry. Read more at: Huffington Post

I will be attending a town hall meeting held by Rep. Michael E. McMahon (D-NY) and report back his position on health care and Afghanistan. I will also be monitoring the comments from the public and McMahon's reaction. Based on a vague letter from McMahon's office to me based on a call I made to his office I don't expect much. I have also received letters from Sen. Gillibrand and Schumer who both made their positions on the health care issue quote clear. McMahon waffled in his his letter, he said nothing of substance and leaves me little hope. Stay tunes and wait for "the rest of the story".

Afghanistan, Win What?

Is it winnable? What do we win? At what price? What will you give up to win?

Jay Rockefeller and Health Care -Politics Daily

Rockefeller can't be bought by the health insurance companies, unlike Sen. Baucus who can be had on the cheap. Rockefeller is a courageous champion for all Americans and is right.

"I will not relent on that. That's the only way to go," Rockefeller told me in an interview. "There's got to be a safe harbor."

President Obama often says a public option is needed to drive down costs and keep insurance companies honest. To Rockefeller, it's both more basic and more vital: The federal government is the only institution people can count on in times of need. To conservatives, that same government is inefficient, intrusive and, in Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley's words, "a predator" in the market. The coming clash promises to be a defining moment, for Rockefeller, Obama and both political parties.

The Senate Finance Committee is expected to approve its bill this week, and it will not have a public option. Rockefeller's version lost 15-8, and a variation from New York Sen. Charles Schumer lost 13-10. The heated committee debate previewed what will be a similar but higher-profile debate on the floor.

Will the end result be the same? Rockefeller sees these reasons for hope:

- Four other House and Senate committees produced health bills that have a public option.

- A Finance Committee member came up to him after the public option vote, "somebody who had not necessarily voted for it," and told him to stick with it because "it could work out well in the end."

-The Senate is fluid. Tweaks may draw new support for a public option. Some people may agree to vote to shut off a filibuster, which takes 60 votes, even if they oppose a public option or a bill that includes it. "People make speeches in July or August, 'this is my line in the sand,' and then life gets to be a little bit more realistic. People can change. Pressure is brought to bear. The president enters the situation."

-"The president wants it, he told me personally. I think he will work very hard for it." When the House and Senate are ready to reconcile differences in their bills, "you may have that conference in the Cabinet Room at the White House. The White -House is going to be very, very much involved in that."

- Other alternatives are weak, and the Senate floor is a good place to expose their weaknesses. " Politics Daily
