Better no bill than a bad bill that only serves the corporate coffers and screws the taxpayer.

“I'm just deeply disappointed that once again we may have to settle for the lesser of two evils.”
Howard Dean

It appears from the direction of the conversation that according to Pelosi there will be a health bill of sorts, but no public option and no universal coverage; a failure only expands the revenue of public health insurance companies and works to their advantage, without meaningful change. It also leaves millions of Americans without coverage. If the democrats cannot deliver; it is better to see it go down to total defeat and lay that disaster at the feet of the Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats. A patch work of a little of this and a little of that will be far worse for the American people. Better no bill than a bad bill that only serves the corporate coffers and screws the taxpayer.
As with Medicare it took thirty years to get it, over the objections of the Republicans in congress. A watered down health care bill does no good for the American people and may be a greater economic drain on their wallets. The fact that the Democrats control the White House, Congress and the Senate and can't get this bill passed speaks to their lack of courage and gutlessness that defines them. This very behavior may showing the American people that the Democrats can't be trusted. The Republican Right is whooping it up at the spinelessness of the Democrats.
